At the end of June, 2024 and after 36 years of ministry in the United Church of Canada, David retired from Windsor United Church in Windsor, Nova Scotia. His ministry has taken him as far away as Alberta and Bermuda and as close to his place of birth as Westmount Leitches Creek Pastoral Charge in Cape Breton. 

In his words, "As I reflect on these years, I am overwhelmed by a deep sense of gratitude for the congregations I have served and the faithfulness of the people I have walked and worked beside.

I am married (39 years) to Marion who currently works as a Care Coordinator with Nova Scotia Health. We have four children and five grandchildren who all reside within the Halifax Regional Municipality. One of the greatest joys of retirement is having the time to spend with our grandchildren who continue to surprise and inspire me with their curiosity and joy! I am certain that you will see them at worship! 

Thank you for the opportunity to share ministry with you. I look forward, over the next five months, to worshipping and working beside you as you enter this Season of Transition. May you feel richly blessed for the congregation you are and are becoming and may you be energized by the spirit as you turn a new page in the story of your life as the people of God."

Jenny is originally from Southwestern Ontario, she came to Nova Scotia in 2014 and is happy to call NS her new home. Jenny has served in Mennonite and Baptist congregations with the focus on children and youth. Jenny is married to Charlie and has a step-son and daughter. As a family, they love going for walks with their dog and going on country drives.

Peter Thamer is our Music Director and musician at St. John’s United Church.

Our music team meet with the ministry team throughout the year to select the wonderful music we hear each Sunday during our worship.
