Rev. Dr. Sally Shaw- LEAD MINISTER (she/her)
Sally’s path to ministry was through summer church camping and working with youth. She is passionate about worship that has lots of participation; meaningful one-on-one conversations; small group learning; and putting faith into action. Sally likes nothing better than spending time with God in nature and having fun while serving others. When you walk into our church, you’ll see her smiling and ready to get to know you!
Rev. Sally received degrees from Emmanuel College in Toronto and the University of Waterloo. Before coming to St. John’s United Church, she served other United Churches in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Nova Scotia, and was part of the teaching team at Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax.
Sally continues to work with students training for ministry as a coach and supervisor. She is married with two adult children, and loves people, art, reading, and spending time on, in or near water.
REV. Jenny Eisener- Children and Youth Program Leader & OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR (SHE/ HER)
Jenny is originally from Southwestern Ontario, she came to Nova Scotia in 2014 and is happy to call NS her new home. Jenny has served in Mennonite and Baptist congregations with the focus on children and youth. Jenny is married to Charlie and has a step-son and daughter. As a family, they love going for walks with their dog and going on country drives.
Peter Thamer- Music Director and Musician (he/him)
Peter Thamer is our Music Director and musician at St. John’s United Church.
Our music team meet with Rev. Sally throughout the year to select the wonderful music we hear each Sunday during our worship.
