Worship Sundays @ 11:00am
Worship Sundays @ 11:00am
PAR automatically transfers a pre-authorized amount from your bank account to our church’s monthly. There is no extra fee for you as a giver. It is very convenient for the donor and it is a simple process to set up through our Church Treasurer, Dawn Myer: treasurer@sjucfr.ca. Receipts for income tax purposes are issued yearly, and can be used to reduce your income ta
If PAR (above) is not your preference, we offer numbered offering envelopes, which also allows us to issue a tax receipt. These are placed in the offering plate during worship. If you are unable to attend worship, your offering can be mailed, or hand delivered during church office hours. We also accept post-dated cheques.
E-Transfer is a convenient process for a one-time donation. When using this method of giving, please send your donation to treasurer@sjucfr.ca and advise our Treasurer, Dawn Myer at treasurer@sjucfr.ca that you have done so. Tax receipts for E-Transfers will be issued.
Our church is registered with Canada Helps, a trusted online partner assisting hundreds of charities in fundraising. Click here for a direct link to our profile with Canada Helps: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/waverley-pastoral-charge/ Donations can be made with a credit card, PayPal, or GooglePay on this secure site and you will receive a charitable tax receipt from Canada Helps.
Some folks choose to place a donation of cash or cheque on the offering plate when they come to church on Sunday mornings. This is much appreciated! However, if you find yourself doing this more than once, we recommend that you consider one of the ways of giving (above) or using a visitor offering envelope so that we can issue you a charitable tax receipt.
Participation in our church’s exciting fundraising activities is another way to support the church. Your offerings of your volunteer time, and your shared talents are also much appreciated! Please contact the church office if you’d like to contribute in this way (902-860-4000).
United Church people across the country turn compassion into action by joining together to give to people and places in need through a unified fund called Mission and Service.
Locally in Nova Scotia and across the country, Mission & Service helps people by supporting homeless shelters, food banks, community kitchens, parents’ groups, and refugee programs. M & S helps young people on campuses and through camping outreach. M & S helps people who are sick or at the end of life by supporting addiction recovery, mental health, and counselling services and hospice care. M & S supports theological schools and education/retreat centres; special events that promote spiritual development and new and innovative ministries; as well as churches that are remote or in need.
Globally, Mission & Service partners with 72 local organizations in 21 countries around the world to give people access to clean water, food, and medical care; skills training in fields such as peace-making, health, sustainable agriculture, and church leadership. M & S also provides disaster relief and advocates for the rights of those who all too often don’t get a say, like children, refugees, and migrant workers.
You can give regularly to Mission & Service through your envelope, PAR, or online church offerings, or you can make a special gift for emergency and disaster relief through The United Church of Canada website, https://united-church.ca.
Receipts for income tax purposes are issued yearly, and can be used to reduce your income tax.
