Worship Sundays @ 11:00am
A friendly greeter welcomes you into our beautiful sanctuary. Grab a free cup of coffee or tea on your way in. We sing traditional and contemporary songs, led by our talented music director and musician, Peter Thamer, and our 20-voice United Voices Choir. Rev. Jenny Eisener, our Children and Youth Program Leader, shares an engaging story for the children. Our preacher, Rev. Dr. Sally Shaw, helps us learn about the Bible and how to apply it to our life and world. We pray for our world and for each other. We grow spiritually, build up our friendships and community, and raise our kids together in a place that values all people.
During worship, our nursery is available for families with babies and toddlers, but children are always welcome in church, too! There is a special kids’ program (Primary to Grade 6), and a program (“KOGA”) for youth in grades 7 to 12.
Visitors are not required to pay any fees or donations. Those who do give a gift on a voluntary basis pool our offerings and dedicate them for the work of God in our church, surrounding communities and around the world. A prayer wall in the entry hall and a candle rack in the sanctuary are also available to anyone who would like to light a candle or leave a prayer request.
Six times a year we share communion (also known as the Eucharist or Lord’s Supper.) At St John’s United Church, we have an open table. Everyone who seeks to follow in the Way of Jesus is invited to share in this special celebration.
We offer baptism to all ages at St. John’s United Church. With babies and children, parents and sponsors attend a baptism preparation workshop first. Youth and adults interested in baptism are invited to take classes tailored to the person’s age and stage of life. During the baptism itself, our whole church promises to be with you and your family as you grow together in faith. Please call the church office to inquire about baptism for yourself or your child. We’d love to talk it over with you!
Our spacious sanctuary in a tranquil forest setting is a beautiful space for making the loving and sacred commitments that are your wedding vows. Our community is broad and accepting. We marry people of all genders, previously divorced people, and couples of different religions. We make marriage preparation sessions available because we understand that marriage relationships require nurture in order to grow and mature. We believe, in coming to the church to be married, couples are asking God to bless their union and to be with them through the good and bad. The church community, in turn, promises to be with couples as they move forward in their life together. For more information about holding a wedding at St. John’s United Church, Fall River, please call us today!
St. John’s United Church provides a comforting and personalized funeral ministry to families who have experienced the loss of a loved one. We offer the following options: a graveside only service, a funeral or Celebration of Life service with urn, and a funeral with a casket (this last option requires the involvement of a Funeral Home). A reception catered by our UCW (United Church Women) can also be arranged. For more information, please call the church office.
